This season, we look back and celebrate all that Cahoots has accomplished over the past 25 years. But this is also a time dream big for the future. We have been hard at work in preparation for our 2011-2012 season, which we excited to share with you:

SIA by Matthew MacKenzie

Cahoots is proud to announce our world première production of Matthew MacKenzie's SIA in March 2012 at Factory Studio Theatre. After a huge success at the 2010 Toronto Fringe Festival, SIA has received workshops with The Bridge in New York, and will be receiving a workshop with Liberian artists in partnership with the Liberian Dance Troupe. Playwright Matthew MacKenzie and Producer Sandra Lefrançois will be travelling to Liberia in November with the generous support of Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts and the TRIP Program.

Set outside the Buduburam Liberian Refugee Camp near Accra, Ghana, SIA is the story of a former child soldier who takes a Canadian University student hostage. A fast and furious examination of the difficult relationship between the Developed and the Developing worlds, SIA is about young people, who are living the not yet realized ideal that all are born free and equal.
