ACTORS
Cahoots Theatre Company holds auditions on a per production basis, usually 2-6 months prior to the beginning of rehearsals.
For consideration, please e-mail a cover letter, your headshot and résumé to Nina Lee Aquino, Artistic Director.
We encourage actors interested in Cahoots to submit their résumés for general consideration throughout the year as we regularly cast actors for readings and workshops. We will contact you or your agent if we are interested and able to accommodate you.
Actors are strongly advised to look through our website in order to familiarize themselves with the kind of work the company does and the artists it engages before e-mailing their résumés.

PLAYWRIGHTS’ HOTHOUSE
The Playwright’s HotHouse consists of 5 – 8 emerging to established playwrights, with works in progress and proposals that reflect the mandate of the company. Over the course of the season, playwrights will develop their work under the guidance of Artistic Director Nina Lee Aquino.
The unit exists to jumpstart creation, nurture stories – as well as the voices telling them – and see the creation through from vision in mind to product on page. It is a place where playwrights can be each other’s support system; an environment that encourages creative curiosity, artistic collaboration, the exchange of theatrical ideas and exploration of different creation processes.
The HotHouse creation period culminates in Hot off the Printer, an invited reading of the works created in the unit.
There is no application process to be part of the unit, acceptance into the unit is by invitation only and at the discretion of the Artistic Director.

SCRIPT SUBMISSIONS
Cahoots Theatre Company accepts unsolicited scripts by Canadian writers. Creators interested in submitting their work are asked to review our website in order to familiarize themselves with the company’s work, and the artists we engage. Submissions will be considered for season programming and developmental activities, and priority will be given to artists and works that fulfill our mandate.
Creators are encouraged to submit all styles of work, including innovative pieces that are non-text based, involve multidisciplinary collaborations or test new theatrical practices.
Please send a query by e-mail with the following:
- Letter of introduction (including development history and cast size)
- Project description and/or proposal (3 pages maximum)
- CV or résumé (theatre and/or playwriting)
- Video/audio support materials for non-text based submissions only
- Script sample (15 pages maximum)

We cannot respond to all submissions, so please do not follow-up by e-mail or phone call. If there is interest in the work, we will promptly contact the artist for further information and the entire script.
